Alexander Lakhanpal was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. Growing up, he was a curious child who was interested in space and astronomy, and was always active. He channelled his energy through running, and in high school he joined the track team. It quickly became apparent that Alex was a natural athlete and would undoubtedly be an asset to the team. He began to train extremely hard, pushing himself to be the best he could be in his sport. While he loved running as a sport, he was not only pushing himself in order to win races, but to earn an education. Alexander had always wanted to go to college, but unfortunately his parents knew they would not be able to afford to send him to school. Unwilling to let this hindrance stop him from getting a college degree, he trained with the intention of winning races in order to earn a college scholarship.
His training ultimately paid off. He made it to the junior world championships and was honored as one of the best athletes in Sweden for the 100m and 200m events. In the last race of his high school career, he set his personal record and won the college scholarship he had had his sights set on for so long.
Alexander Lakhanpal attended Stockholm University for all of one semester before transferring to Tulane University, in New Orleans, Louisiana. At Tulane, he double-majored in finance and accounting, all while maintaining an internship with Merrill Lynch and running on Tulane’s track team all four years of his undergraduate education. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Bachelor’s of Science in Management, and immediately accepted a job offer with Deloitte in New Orleans. Alexander wanted to make sure that he had a stellar track record and great ratings, so he worked in the New Orleans office for roughly a year and a half before transferring to their New York office. Upon arrival, he was designated to some of their big investment banks, working his way up to becoming a Senior Manager.
As a Senior Manager in Deloitte’s Banking and Securities practice, Alexander Lakhanpal is equipped with over 12 years of experience.
Lakhanpal He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Currently, Lakhanpal is working on obtaining his Financial Risk Management (FRM) designation.
Outside of his career, Alexander Lakhanpal maintains an interest in athletics and is a big hockey fan, following the New York Rangers and the Swedish National Team. He is also a Minnesota Vikings fan, a team he chose to follow simply because Vikings are from Sweden! Besides athletics, Lakhanpal is a big supporter of humanitarian efforts, such as UNICEF and the Red Cross. He has a personal interest in space and the cosmos, which he pursues actively in his spare time.
